We have an exiting opportunity for a Senior Early Learning Practitioner to work within VSA’s Maisie’s Children’s Centre (Aberdeen City), our nursery which caters for both mainstream children and children with additional support needs up to 5 years old.  This rewarding opportunity is available on a full-time basis working Mon-Friday (39 hours).

You will be expected to work closely with the service manager to direct an early years service in delivering a flexible, high quality and inclusive early learning and childcare service which meets the needs of all children 2-5 years.

As a senior member of the nursery team you will lead and support staff to provide a caring, safe and secure environment in which children can learn to grow and develop through the medium of play and participation. Applicants will need to have good interpersonal abilities and establish effective working relationships with parents, professionals and staff. You must be capable of maintaining records and respecting confidentiality.  Within the role you will undertake appropriate supervisory responsibilities and deputise in the absence of the Nursery Manager.  You will be confident and comfortable working to deadlines whilst paying close attention to detail and have the ability to draft reports and be involved with assessments.

Qualification in SCQF level 7/ SVQ level 3 in Childcare Learning and Development or equivalent is desirable and you will have experience of working in a child care setting. Relevant training will be provided and supported.
