Inchgarth Community Centre Foodbank

Volunteers have always been a huge part of Inchgarth Community Centre. 

As part of their Covid-19 response, the team at Inchgarth recognised the need to establish a foodbank to help those struggling during the pandemic.

One Seed Forward

Aberdeen based voluntary organisation, One Seed Forward, have been making a positive impact on the climate since 2017 through their plant biodiversity and education programmes.

They give away free seeds, seedlings and plants to schools, community groups and the public in the North-East of Scotland. All they ask in return is for growers to share some of their crop with family, friends and neighbours or to use some of the crop for cooking at community events, or as donations to foodbanks.

FRESH Community Wellness

FRESH Community Wellness is an outreach service, providing opportunities to socialise and exercise for individuals who are struggling with social isolation, homelessness, drug dependency, and/or other issues.

They gently encourage these individuals to make “safe choices” in their lifestyle, offering them alternatives to unhealthy habits or behaviours and pointing them towards other local services,

Volunteers’ Week 2021

Green & Bee

Green & Bee offer experiences and volunteer opportunities to those who may be socially excluded, in gardening, civic pride projects and bee keeping. The Urban Bee project trains volunteers in ther art of beekeeping and emphisises the importance of biodiversity in the urban landscape.

Camphill Wellbeing Trust – The Compass Project

COMPASS is envisaged as a place where the ethos and practices successfully pioneered for those with learning disabilities by the North-East Camphill organisations will be translated to benefit all who want to improve their health, maintain their wellbeing or explore a more sustainable lifestyle.

Grampian Autistic Society Sensory Bus Launch

The launch event for Grampian Autistic Society Sensory Bus project which saw the organisation recieve a donation of a bus from Stagecoach in Aberdeen, allowing them to extend their reach in to Grampian’s communities.
