Trades Widows’ Fund Charity
About this fund
The Trades Widows’ Fund Charity was founded in 2015 and the purpose of the fund is to help the local community and residents of Aberdeen. The charity help children, families, local charities and community groups by empowering them through financial support to help them aspire and achieve.
The Trades Widows’ Fund Charity Trustees wish to invite grant applications from Charities, local community groups, and organisations offering support to individuals, communities and children experiencing hardship arising from food poverty, illness, need for clothing, and the need for general daily support.
The Trustees will prioritise local community groups and organisations seeking grants of up to £2,500 and if successful the Fund’s preference would be to provide grants via the direct purchase of goods, services, or materials. Charity grants will be limited to a maximum of £5,000 per application unless exceptional circumstances are demonstrated.
Objectives
To assist with the focus of the charity’s objective and the selection of worthy charitable donations the following will be used to describe the charities main activities:
To contribute to the betterment of the greater community of Aberdeen by:
- Supporting and encouraging the development of skills and crafts in younger people.
- Participating in local causes which have a clearly defined benefit to the younger people of Aberdeen.
- Offering support to worthy causes where the outcome will clearly benefit those in need.
- To motivate and empower young people through the development of skills and crafts.
- To provide opportunities for young people to engage with and pursue personal development activities and qualifications.
- Contributions which will make a real difference to an organisation where a clear and visible difference will be achieved.
- To work in partnership and collaborate with all parties who share our common objectives for the benefit of communities and young people of the greater community of Aberdeen.
Trustees of the Trades Widows’ Fund Charity are drawn from two members of each trade of The Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen, this includes the presiding Deacon Convener and Master of Trades Hospital. For further information about the organisation, please visit www.seventradesofaberdeen.co.uk

- Your main governance document (Constitution, memorandum, and articles of association etc)
- Your latest accounts
- Your latest bank statement
