Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust
About this fund
The Trust gives grants to registered charities that work in the UK. They focus on specific priorities every year. The focus areas for 2023 are:
-Grant rounds 1 and 2: Rehabilitation of prisoners, ex-prisoners and those at risk of offending
-Grant rounds 3 and 4: Children and young people in care and care leavers
Fund award sizes: maximum £1,000
Notes on award amounts: Grant rounds 1 and 3 have a maximum grant of £1,000, Grant rounds 2 and 4 have a maximum of £5,000.
Who can apply
They only award grants to organisations registered with the Charity Commission (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or OSCR, or exempt from registration.
Minimum annual income: £100,000 Maximum annual income: £1,000,000
When to apply
They have four grant rounds per year. The dates for theses are:
-Grant Round 1: 1 – 28 February
-Grant Round 2: 1 – 30 April
-Grant Round 3: 1 – 31 July
-Grant Round 4: 1 – 30 September

Exclusions
Do not fund:
-Capital appeals, including equipment
-Charities involved with religion (including repair of Church fabric)
-Charities involved with animals (welfare and conservation)
-Holidays, including respite holidays
-Individual hospices (national organisations can apply)
-Individuals, including individuals embarking on a trip overseas with a charitable organisation
-Minibuses or other Vehicles
-Overseas projects
-Schools, including activities
-Scouts, Guides, Cubs, Brownies
-Sea Cadets
-Shopmobility
-Students
-Village Halls
