SUMMARY:Conflict Triggers and Response Styles
DESCRIPTION:This online session\, ‘Conflict Triggers and Response Styles’\, is designed for parents\, carers\, and professionals\, practitioners\, and volunteers working with young people and families. As part of our adapted and shorter conflict resolution series\, the session explores common triggers in relationships that can lead to conflict escalation and the impact this can have\, while offering practical insight into different conflict response styles and how understanding these can support more effective practice. By attending\, you’ll learn to recognise everyday triggers within family contexts\, reflect on how to respond more constructively or seek appropriate support\, and develop greater awareness of how both you and others respond to conflict. Delivered live on Zoom by an experienced SCCR trainer\, you’ll receive all the information and joining instructions via email ahead of the session once you’ve signed up.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Suicide Prevention
DESCRIPTION:Join SAMH’s North East Suicide Prevention Team for this session as part of Grampian Wellbeing Festival. \nIt is estimated that 1 in 20 people have thought about suicide in any given year\, which shows us why it’s so important that we all do our bit to start the conversation and tackle stigma. \nThese sessions are free of charge and are for anyone who wants to stay informed and get the opportunity to come together and learn from others. This is whether you are looking for an initial overview or have done some sort of suicide prevention training previously and looking for a refresher. \nThe session covers: \n• Introduction to the statistics and prevalence of suicide\n• Stigma – why does this still exist?\n• Spotting the signs that may suggest someone is having thoughts of suicide\n• Asking the question around suicide\, the power of listening and remembering what we can do within the remit of our roles\n• Signposting to support and resources; our boundaries/looking after ourselves \nFor any questions get in touch with SAMH’s North East Suicide Prevention Team at northeastsuicideprevention@samh.org.uk

SUMMARY:Anxiety and Resilience (Online Conflict Resolution Series)
DESCRIPTION:This online session\, ‘Anxiety and Resilience – Understanding Emotions and Coping (Online Conflict Resolution Series)’\, is designed for parents\, carers\, and professionals\, practitioners\, and volunteers working with young people and families. As part of our adapted and shorter conflict resolution series\, the session explores the experience of anxiety and fear\, helping you understand the difference between anxiety and stress and the science that underpins these emotional states. Using SCCR’s digital resources\, it also looks at what resilience really means\, emphasising that it is not a fixed trait but something we build over time through experience\, and shares practical tips and coping strategies to help strengthen it. By attending\, you’ll be able to better relate to feelings of anxiety\, explore the science behind them\, and reflect on how resilience develops and can be supported. Delivered live on Zoom by an experienced SCCR trainer\, you’ll receive all the information and joining instructions via email shortly before the session once you’ve signed up.

SUMMARY:Women Carers & Menopause
DESCRIPTION:Supportive workshops for women carers navigating menopause\, blending gentle movement\, embodied self-care and seasonal wellbeing practices to build resilience\, wellbeing and emotional balance. \nWomen carers often spend so much time supporting others that their own wellbeing is pushed aside — especially during menopause\, when physical\, emotional and hormonal changes can feel overwhelming. These workshops are designed to offer a compassionate\, restorative space where women can pause\, reconnect with themselves and receive support within a welcoming community of shared experience. \nBlending somatic movement\, mindfulness\, breath work and nature-based practices\, the workshops explore how menopause and caring responsibilities affect the body\, mind and emotions. Participants are gently guided to notice patterns of stress\, tension and exhaustion while discovering practical tools that encourage resilience\, body-systems awareness and deeper self-care. Through grounding exercises\, reflective practices and creative exploration\, women are supported to reconnect with their bodies in ways that feel safe\, nurturing and empowering. \nThe workshops recognise that menopause is not simply a medical transition but also a significant life stage that can influence identity\, relationships\, energy levels and emotional wellbeing. For carers\, these changes are often intensified by the demands of supporting loved ones\, balancing responsibilities and managing limited time for rest. The sessions therefore focus on restoring balance\, creating moments of calm and helping participants develop sustainable practices they can carry into everyday life. \nNature connection forms an important part of the experience. Seasonal awareness and eco-somatic approaches encourage participants to slow down\, regulate the nervous system and to find support. By engaging with movement\, breath and sensory awareness in relation to the surrounding landscapes of presence\, women are invited to rediscover a sense of grounding\, vitality and belonging. \nEach workshop is inclusive\, accessible and gently paced\, with no previous experience required. Activities are adaptable for different abilities and energy levels\, ensuring that participants can engage in ways that honour their individual needs. The emphasis is not on performance or fitness\, but on listening to the body\, cultivating self-compassion and creating space for rest\, reflection and connection.
