DESCRIPTION:Join us for the ACA August Beach Clean and help make our local beach sparkle again. It’s an awesome in-person event where we roll up our sleeves\, collect trash and enjoy some fresh sea breeze together. Whether you’re a regular or new to beach cleanups\, everyone’s welcome to pitch in and have some fun while protecting our planet. Don’t miss out – let’s keep the beach beautiful! \nSCHEDULE \n10:30 – Welcome & safety briefing: Please arrive on time so we can brief everyone\, explain how the event works\, and hand out equipment. \n10:45 – Beach clean: We’ll spread out in pairs or small groups to collect litter along the beach and nearby paths. \n12:00 – Wrap-up & social time. We’ll meet back at the start point to return equipment\, tally up what we’ve found\, and take a group photo. \nPlease plan to stay until 12:30 if you can – this is a great time to meet like-minded people\, ask questions\, and enjoy a relaxed moment together after the clean-up. Learn how to create and maintain accurate records that capture a child’s history\, including any “significant events” that may require intervention. \nDiscuss tools and resources specifically designed to support your work with children and keep them safe. \nWe’ll revisit and solidify the steps you should take if you have any concerns about a child’s safety. Find out about volunteering with Musical Memories. \nJoin us for an informal drop-in session to find out more about volunteering with Musical Memories\, a welcoming singing group for people living with dementia\, together with their partners\, families and friends.\nWe’re looking for volunteer musicians to provide live accompaniment for a range of well-loved songs from different eras. Each session follows a themed playlist\, with a volunteer leading the singing while musicians provide the instrumental backing that helps create a warm\, engaging and enjoyable experience for participants. \nMusical Memories is led by a fantastic team of volunteers\, supported by Aberdeen Archives\, Gallery & Museums. Our volunteers are warm\, friendly and welcoming\, and together they create a fun and supportive atmosphere where music brings people together. Through singing and shared musical experiences\, Musical Memories helps spark memories and build meaningful connections. \nEveryone attending the information event is warmly encouraged to stay for the Musical Memories session from 1.30pm to 3.00pm. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet participants and volunteers\, enjoy the music\, experience the welcoming atmosphere and see first-hand the difference music and singing together can make. \nCome along to:\n• Meet our friendly Musical Memories volunteers and staff\n• Learn more about the role and what is involved\n• Experience a Musical Memories session in action\n• Find out about the impact the sessions have on participants\n• Ask questions and explore whether volunteering is right for you \nTea\, coffee and refreshments will be available.
