DESCRIPTION:Do you love music? Can you play the piano\, guitar or accordion? Want to support your community? Find out about volunteering with Musical Memories. \nJoin us for an informal drop-in session to find out more about volunteering with Musical Memories\, a welcoming singing group for people living with dementia\, together with their partners\, families and friends.\nWe’re looking for volunteer musicians to provide live accompaniment for a range of well-loved songs from different eras. Each session follows a themed playlist\, with a volunteer leading the singing while musicians provide the instrumental backing that helps create a warm\, engaging and enjoyable experience for participants. \nMusical Memories is led by a fantastic team of volunteers\, supported by Aberdeen Archives\, Gallery & Museums. Our volunteers are warm\, friendly and welcoming\, and together they create a fun and supportive atmosphere where music brings people together. Through singing and shared musical experiences\, Musical Memories helps spark memories and build meaningful connections. \nEveryone attending the information event is warmly encouraged to stay for the Musical Memories session from 1.30pm to 3.00pm. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet participants and volunteers\, enjoy the music\, experience the welcoming atmosphere and see first-hand the difference music and singing together can make. \nCome along to:\n• Meet our friendly Musical Memories volunteers and staff\n• Learn more about the role and what is involved\n• Experience a Musical Memories session in action\n• Find out about the impact the sessions have on participants\n• Ask questions and explore whether volunteering is right for you \nTea\, coffee and refreshments will be available. Everyone is welcome\, whether you’re interested in volunteering or simply curious to learn more about the programme.\nVolunteer Availability \nMusical Memories takes place fortnightly on Fridays from 1.30pm to 3.00pm.
