Families Outside’s Training is aimed at any professional whose role means they come into contact with families, and who feel that they would benefit from being able to better support families affected by imprisonment in their own role.
Please note, the training modules incorporate a mix of learning styles, and offer opportunities to interact with other participants from different professional backgrounds and sectors. Interaction is required, in smaller breakout room discussions and whole group discussions.
This module will cover:
- The varying needs of children and young people with a family member in prison
- Policies to support and protect children who are affected by imprisonment – specifically the UNCRC and relevant articles for children with a parent in prison
- Know how to apply this knowledge when supporting children and young people who are affected by imprisonment or know how to seek appropriate support
Please note this training session will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams.
