DESCRIPTION:Suitable for: \nFor staff who have a lead/designated safeguarding person role within your organisation. \nYou must have previously completed a safeguarding/child protection course to attend this session. \nBook before 6pm on 12th July to receive a £5 discount on the ticket price. \nCourse Description: \nThis course is delivered via MS Teams by an experienced professional. \nWe will review the latest legislation and policies related to safeguarding/child protection\, ensuring you understand how they apply to your specific duties as a lead/designated safeguarding person. \nWe will explore the continuum of support for the Getting it Right for Every Child framework through to Child Protection. \nUnderstand why Chronologies are important for safeguarding children in protecting children. Learn how to create and maintain accurate records that capture a child’s history and any “significant events” that may require action. You’ll also develop your professional judgment in identifying these events. \nWe will revisit the steps you should take if you have any concerns about a child’s safety. This will empower you to respond promptly and appropriately\, ensuring the child receives the necessary support. \nDelve into multi-agency processes for addressing safeguarding/child protection concerns. We’ll answer the question: “What happens next?” This session will boost your confidence in record-keeping and information security when working with other agencies. \nLearning Outcomes: \nDemonstrate a strong understanding of the latest legislation and policies related to safeguarding and the child protection of children. You’ll be able to explain how these regulations apply to your specific duties as a lead/designated safeguarding person. \nA deeper and more holistic understanding of the preventative measures using the Getting it Right for Every Child framework for safeguarding/child protection interventions. \nDevelop your skills in creating and maintaining comprehensive chronologies that capture a child’s history and any “significant events” requiring intervention. You’ll strengthen your professional judgement in identifying these critical events. \nClear understanding of the steps you should take if you have any concerns about a child’s safety.
