Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund Applicant Support Workshop

About this event

The Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund has been established by the Scottish Government to provide grants to grassroots community groups and organisations across Scotland in response to the mental health need arising from the pandemic. The intended outcome of The Fund is to develop a culture of mental wellbeing and prevention within local communities, tackling priority issues such as suicide prevention, social isolation, and loneliness, as well as improving awareness of how we can all stay well and help others. Over £570,000 will be distributed in Aberdeen City. Applications will be assessed by the ACVO team on a rolling basis to enable faster distribution of the funds.

About the workshops

If you’re not familiar with applying for grant funding, reading all the funding guidance and completing an application form can seem a daunting process. To help with the application process, Sandy Mathers, Susan Morrison and Claire Shaw from ACVO will be running two workshops via Microsoft Teams for third sector organisations based in Aberdeen City. They will talk you through the guidance notes and questions on the application forms; you can also ask any questions you may have relating to the funding opportunity.

Who are the workshops for?

These workshops are designed to support the following organisations who are interested in applying for the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund:

Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisations (SCIO) Unincorporated Associations Companies Limited by Guarantee Trusts Not-for-profit company or asset locked company or Community Interest Companies (CIC) Cooperative and Community Benefit Societies Community Councils

These workshops will:

Give you an insight into the purpose of the fund Explain the eligibility criteria Take you through key stages of the application process Look at what will make a strong application’ Provide opportunities for you to ask questions about your organisations proposed project

ACVO would encourage you to read through the ACVO guidance available on the website before you attend the workshop, so that you are reasonably sure that you are eligible to apply for the grant. For example, if your project is aimed at supporting young children or to employ a professionally trained counsellor, you would not be eligible to apply to this fund for a grant. You can however contact our Funding Officer by emailing who can support you in applying for alternative funding opportunities.
