DESCRIPTION:Suitable for: \nFor existing staff working in Early Years\, and or with school age children\, Childminders\, who have previously completed an Introduction to Child Protection course within the last 3 years. \nBook before 6pm on 12th July to receive a £5 discount on the ticket price. \nCourse Description: \nThis course is delivered via MS Teams by experienced professionals who will look at the up-to-date information used within the sector to refresh your understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues\, legislation\, policies\, procedures\, and best practises for your role and how you work with children and young people. \nWe’ll explore the “Getting it Right for Every Child” framework\, a powerful tool for implementing preventative measures and safeguarding children before concerns arise. \nLook at the importance of chronologies in safeguarding children. Learn how to create and maintain accurate records that capture a child’s history\, including any “significant events” that may require intervention. \nDiscuss tools and resources specifically designed to support your work with children and keep them safe. \nWe’ll revisit and solidify the steps you should take if you have any concerns about a child’s safety. This will empower you to respond promptly and appropriately\, ensuring the child receives the necessary support. \nLearning Outcomes: \nStrengthened knowledge of the up-to-date child protection legislation and policies that directly impact your role. \nA better understanding of the preventative measures using the Getting it Right for Every Child framework for safeguarding interventions. \nAn understanding of the use of chronologies as a tool for safeguarding children\, and how to identify “significant events” within them. \nThe use of tools and resources available to support your practise in keeping children safe. \nConfidence in understanding the steps you should take if you have any concerns about a child’s well-being\, ensuring a prompt and appropriate response.
