Diabetes Scotland Online Clinic Wednesday 22nd July 7pm
With schools in Scotland due to go back from 11 August, many parents of children with type 1 diabetes will have concerns. Join us on Zoom along with Dr Ian Craigie, Clinical Lead for Diabetes and Fiona Lamb, Team Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist Diabetes, both from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, to ask any questions you have about ensuring children with type 1 diabetes get the appropriate care in school and are not restricted in participating in any activities.
While our speakers are based in Glasgow, we aim to make the session relevant to parents all over Scotland. Where there are issues concerning regional differences in care, we will follow up with you after the session to get you the information you need.
We also encourage parents to be aware of the Making Connections: Supporting children and young people with type 1 diabetes in education guidance, written in partnership with the Scottish Government. This outlines the responsibilities of schools, local authorities, health boards and families in ensuring children get the support they need at school. (The document is being refreshed but this has been delayed due to covid-19).
If you’d like to join us, please email email@example.com and we’ll send you the log in details. We welcome you to send questions in advance.
