We awarded £3,000 to this project
People living with dementia have been hugely affected by the pandemic. They are facing increased stress and distress as their normal routines are disrupted and don’t always understand why they can’t leave the house to do normal day to day things. Carers are facing pressures as they rely on others to supply them with food and medicine, often struggle to keep their loved ones calm, try to provide engaging actvities for their loved ones and are caring 24 hours a day without a break.
Alzheimer Scotland provides emotional and practical support to people living with dementia and their carers in Aberdeen to ensure they continue to cope during this challenging time. This might include providing a listening ear, suggesting a coping method or helping to navigate specific practical issues.
