Volunteers Week (1st-7th June 2019) is the biggest national celebration and thank you to volunteers. Throughout the week the important and incredible contribution volunteers make is recognised and celebrated in Aberdeen and across the country and new people are inspired to volunteer.
The following excellent special messages thanking all volunteers in Aberdeen and across Scotland for all you do have been provided:
‘On behalf of all of the team at ACVO, I would like to thank everyone involved in volunteering in Aberdeen. Without your support, our work would be so much harder and less fun. You have brought fantastic skills and enthusiasm which have made a difference to the lives of many in the city. I urge you to continue to be involved in volunteering. Anyone wishing to join in helping as a volunteer can visit: www.volunteeraberdeen.org.uk and www.acvo.org.uk for more details’ – Maggie Hepburn, Interim Chief Executive ACVO
‘Aberdeen is one of the leading cities in terms of volunteer numbers and it is amazing to see so many Aberdonians dedicated to organisations across the city. The voluntary sector is absolutely vital to so many services and we all owe Aberdeen’s army of volunteers a massive thank you for their outstanding work!’ – Kevin Stewart MSP, Aberdeen Central
‘I want to put on record my thanks to all of those people who are giving their time and energy freely to befriend the lonely, enable people to participate in clubs and groups, help their elderly neighbours and to support causes they believe in. Whether you are raising money, delivering services, or acting as a Charity Trustee, it is this generosity of spirit, this selflessness, that is transforming our communities and enhancing our sense of wellbeing. Volunteering brings enormous benefits and enjoyment, not only to beneficiaries, but to communities, and to volunteers themselves.’ – Aileen Campbell MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Local Government and Communities, Volunteering for All – Our National Volunteering Framework
ACVO thanks all volunteers in Aberdeen. Have a fantastic Volunteers Week 2019!
