goodcausesdayBig Aberdeen is a movement. It is not about ACVO doing the moving. We are delighted that a new Big Aberdeen initiative has been kicked off by private business and social enterprise members of the popular Aberdeen Business Network and ACVO Affiliates scheme  coming together to organise Big Aberdeen Good Causes Day on Sunday June 26th at Aberdeen Sports Village. New Big Aberdeen network member Scott McDougall, for the group said “The Good Causes Day founders are excited to be part of the Big Aberdeen Project as our event at Aberdeen Sports Village on the 26th June looks to create an exciting family environment where good causes, businesses and the general public can connect, colloborate and enjoy, an action packed afternoon of activities together.” From 12.30 there will a Fun Day Cup football match, children’s round-robin football festival and penalty shoot-out with mascots including Angus the Bull and Donny the Sheep. There will be stalls, food, bouncy castles, face-painting and fundraising for a range of local good causes including MeToo Magazine, Gathimba Edwards Foundation, Diabetes UK, AFFCT, Archie Foundation and Glencraft . The event will also kick off the creation of Big Aberdeen Good Causes Benches for playparks across the City as part of Blooming Big Aberdeen http://acvo.org.uk/working-with/big-aberdeen/blooming-big-aberdeen/ thanks to the support of ACVO Affiliate Recognition Express and Colin Cross of CMC Decorators.Opportunities remain for other local children/family charities to be part of the day, tickets for the day and more information can be found at goodcausesday.com or by emailing info@goodcausesday.com
