Services to Third Sector:
We provide specialist town and country planning advice and can help third sector clients in, for example:
– getting involved in the planning process at an early stage, making the case for or against sites being allocated in a Local Development Plan for a particular use;
– looking at ideas and the feasibility for third sector development, and bringing these forwards through the preparation and submission of planning applications;
– objecting to development proposals which may undermine community interests, whilst also advising on securing benefits should an application they are objecting to be approved.
Our experience very strongly suggests that the earlier we can become involved in a development project the better able we are to help and to secure optimum outcomes for the third sector and communities.

Committment to the Third Sector:
We strongly believe that planning should work in the public interest and so we are keen to help make the planning system work for everyone. We particularly want to focus on how third sector organisations and communities can maximise the benefits of any development, whether that is promoted by themselves or by others.
Our joint directors, Pippa and Maggie, are also both actively involved in the Third Sector themselves: Pippa acts as an advisor for the Development Trust Association Scotland’s Community Ownership Support Service, supporting community-based groups in Scotland to take on land or buildings under the Community Empowerment Act; and Maggie is a Board member of Grampian Housing Association, providing affordable housing to create sustainable communities.
