Trusts Fundraiser (Befriend a Child)

Part time post – 3 days a week
Salary: £24,000 – £27,000 (pro-rata)

At Befriend a Child we believe every child deserves a happy childhood and the best chance in life to succeed and thrive. We support children and young people growing up in difficult life circumstances across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire helping them to develop into confident young adults and achieve their full potential. We do that by matching them with trained volunteers who deliver 1:1 befriending and mentoring which over time has a transformational effect.

We are now looking to recruit an experienced and talented writer to join our dynamic fundraising team to secure funds from Trusts and Foundations. If you are inspired by our cause, can demonstrate success achieved in a similar role, are organised with excellent attention to detail and have a passion for what you do, we would love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potential funders and matching them with relevant charity projects and services. You will write persuasive grant applications to achieve income targets and will be required to work with colleagues to evaluate outcomes and report to funders. You will take ownership of the existing application pipeline which will be your responsibility to maintain and develop. Historically Befriend a Child has performed well in grant fundraising and this role offers potential to make a big impact to the success of the charity.

It is an exciting time to join the charity, we have recently appointed a new CEO and are in the process of developing our new 5-year strategy.

Based in our office at 9 Bon Accord Square, this is a part time post of 3 days a week.  Our working day is 9.00am – 4.30pm and we operate flexitime and toil.
