Trusts & Foundations Fundraising Co-ordinator (VSA)

Ref: J02818
Full-time / Part-time (both considered)
Up to £36,000 FTE (dependent on experience)
Castle Street, Aberdeen

Established in 1870 VSA is a leading social care charity in the UK with a firm commitment to delivering the best of care to the most vulnerable of people living in Aberdeen. Since the charity was first established we have helped thousands of people and their families across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Today VSA provides support and services to people of all ages across four core areas: Children and Families; Adult and Community; Education and Learning; and Carers Support.

As a charity we rely on a diverse range of funding to enable us to deliver a wide range of services across the city. As we seek to further diversify our sources of funding, VSA has recently undertaken a strategic review of its fundraising activities.

As part of this review, VSA is now recruiting a Trusts & Foundations Fundraising Co-ordinator, to help us grow and diversify our income from trusts, foundations and grant making bodies. This is a key role within the organisation, reporting into our Head of Fundraising. This is an exciting time to join the fundraising team as we are in the process of developing a campaign in the lead up to our 150th anniversary in 2020.

You will be responsible for researching, writing and submitting detailed and engaging funding applications as we seek to develop and expand support for our services. You will be responsible for developing relationships with charitable trusts and other grant giving bodies and will need to demonstrate a proven track record of financial success in these areas, or other similar experience.

Prior experience of communicating with funders and providing grant compliance reports, together with the ability to work on your own initiative, is also required. The ability to work on multiple funding applications at the same time, including statutory funding bids, is essential as is having accurate and clear reporting skills and a natural flair for writing compelling and tailored applications. You will possess excellent research, organisation and communication skills and display a proactive, enthusiastic and flexible approach to work.

In return, a competitive salary is on offer, together with flexible working arrangements (including working from home). Working as part of a team passionate about the work that we do, this represents an exceptional opportunity for a talented and driven individual to build new networks and to work collaboratively with colleagues across VSA in shaping funding approaches and applications to help support the work we do with some of the most vulnerable people living in Aberdeen.
