Salary: SCP 19 – 22, currently £19,325 – £20,895 per annum

Sacro’s Self-Directed Intensive Support Service focuses on maximising outcomes for Supported People including promoting independence and reducing over-support. There is close partnership working with service users and their carers, the local authority and other support providers.
The successful candidate will provide practical advice and assistance to, and monitor the progress of service users as part of planned programmes of support with the aim of increasing independence and reducing over-support. The service requires skills in engaging those with a learning disability and the ability to plan individual programmes, which reflect the needs of these service users.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as is an understanding of the nature of and purpose of the post. The ability to use initiative and organise workload within a pressurised environment is essential. The Successful applicant will be flexible and imaginative in their approach and sensitive and confident in their ability to help service users. The ability to work in a non-discriminatory framework is essential.
Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) will be a requirement for this post.
A valid driving licence and access to a car would is desirable.
As the service runs 24 hours a day, 365 days year, hours will be worked on a rota system which will include evenings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays. There will be a requirement for sleep ins, waking nights and on call cover for which appropriate allowances are payable.
