ACVO has been awarded £100,000 from the Scottish Government Supporting Communities Fund to disburse small grants to groups and organisations in Aberdeen City. The ACVO Community Anchor Fund is for activity which responds to the COVID19 pandemic and implementation of the social distancing measures over the six-month period from May to November.
You can apply for £600-£4,000.
Applications are welcome from constituted community groups or clubs, registered charities and community interest companies. This fund is open to local, neighbourhood-wide and city-wide organisations.
Applications will not be accepted from individuals, sole traders, companies that pay profits to directors, shareholders of traders and statutory bodies.
Full guidance and eligibility criteria can be found in the Guidance Notes Document below.
Other Anchor Organisations
We are not the only Community Anchor Organisation in Aberdeen distributing funding through the Supporting Communities Fund – currently SHMU and Inchgarth Community Centre have also been awarded money from the Supporting Communities Fund.
However, we each have our own unique focus. Inchgarth focuses on the south of the city and disbursing funding to communities and individuals and the work that SHMU are doing covers the regeneration areas in particular. More information on both of these can be found here:
Inchgarth Community Centre: http://www.inchgarth.org/
Should your application be more applicable to one of the other Aberdeen funds within the Supporting Communities initiative, each of the three Community Anchors have agreed to work cooperatively and will cross refer. We do this to prevent duplication and to maximise the chances of applicants receiving funding.
